Animal Hotel

Today Cecily and Francesca decided to start an animal hotel.  Their first guests were, of course, Lola and Bubbles.  How these two little girls talked our sweet animals into playing I'll never know.  All was well until we left home and then the girls admitted something.  They said, "Mom, before we left, we put Bubbles back in her tiny cage and locked her door".  The poor cat!!! We raced home and thank heavens kitty was fine... Cecily did put water in her cage but Bubbles was more than happy to get out.  I have no idea why this would surprise me because I have found Bubbles in our fridge in the garage in the past and I have found her dressed like a babydoll in our bathtub.  We truly have the sweetest, most patient animals in the world.

Finn is getting mentally psyched for his last soccer game.

Determination

Here's Finnegan with his fancy footwork near the goal

Curious Cub

Isabella did her "Curious Cub" report on
The Seven Wonders Of The World.
She did I really great  job.
After, her class asked her why she decided to report on that subject.. she said that she hadn't known anything about the seven wonders of the world and wanted to learn about them.  She also said she hopes to travel to all of them at some time in her life.

SERVE.GOV

On April 21, 2009, My mom called me so excited.  She told me that President Obama signed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act.  I had no idea what she was talking about.  She explained it to me and couldn't be happier.

"During a time of almost unprecedented challenges it is critical that we all work together, the government alone cannot fix everything.  Working together in a sustained, collaborative effort, we can harness our greatest resource, our people, and change the course of history.
This website is a new portal for you and all Americans to find your own ways to serve in your own communities.  Just choose your keyword - "education," "environment," or whatever interests you - and type in your zip code to see what opportunities our partner organizations have in your area.  Americans are putting their own country back on the right track, be a part of it."

SERVE.GOV - Be a Part of the Solution

When I think of  "community service" my Mom is the first person  that comes to my mind.  She has always been a great example of someone that is continually trying to better the world, help the underdog, create opportunities for others, etc.  Log onto SERVE.GOV and find a large variety of ways that you can help serve your communities and our country!! Spring Break

We headed to St. George for a couple of days and despite the weather we had a wonderful time.
One of the days we took the kids to Snow Canyon and did a little unplanned hiking.  A couple of them were nervous when we go to the top of the rock because it was so windy.  We had to reassure them that they were not going to blow away.

Isabella loved climbing and asked Tyler to take her up on a really big rock.
This is a picture of them coming down  from their hike.

When we got to a sand dune we had a competition to see who could jump the furthest down the hill.  I lost by a long shot.  Grande jete's going down hill do not work.

Whenever the sun came out, the kids would run and get their swimming suits on and we'd head to the pool.  Scott, Jessica, Eva, and Marli were there too so that was a lot of fun.

Scott and Jessica found an awesome park to play at.
They kids had so much fun.

Even Tyler and Scott enjoyed themselves.

It has been raining for a couple of days and I absolutely LOVE it.  I love the way it smells, the way it deepens the colors we see, the way the flowers glisten shyly, and the way it plays music on my roof and windows.
I also love when we get to see a beautiful rainbow.
